Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, secure your account, and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, can also remember choices you make in your browser.
This Cookie Policy applies to ClubReporter on clubreporter.ie, clubreporter.co.uk, and related ClubReporter pages. It is intended for users in Ireland, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other regions where cookie consent rules may apply.
2. How we use cookies
ClubReporter uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in securely.
- Remember workspace preferences such as your active club.
- Protect the Service against abuse and unauthorised access.
- Measure usage or marketing performance only where you have given consent for those optional categories.
3. Types of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session security, fraud prevention, Supabase connectivity, active club selection, and core app functionality. These are always on because ClubReporter cannot operate safely without them. | Session / up to 1 year |
| Analytics | Understand how visitors use marketing pages and the app so we can improve performance, reliability, and features. Analytics cookies are disabled by default and only used with your permission. | Varies by provider |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns or show relevant ClubReporter messages. Marketing cookies are disabled by default and only used with your permission. | Varies by provider |
4. Consent and optional cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are used without consent where they are required to provide the service you request, such as login, security, sessions, and core app functionality. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional and are disabled by default.
We do not load analytics, tracking, marketing, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar tools unless you have accepted the relevant cookie category.
5. Third-party cookies
We may use trusted third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database services, analytics, or payments. These providers may set cookies or similar technologies where needed to deliver their services. Optional analytics or marketing providers are only enabled after you consent to the relevant category.
6. Managing cookies
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Your preference is stored in your browser localStorage under the key clubreporter_cookie_consent.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using key features of ClubReporter.
7. Ireland, EU, and UK users
Where the GDPR, ePrivacy rules, UK GDPR, or the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations apply, we ask for consent before using optional analytics or marketing cookies. You may withdraw or change that consent at any time without affecting strictly necessary cookies that are required to provide ClubReporter.
